Today we learned about protest and visual forms of protest. Sue, the tutor for MA Graphic Design, showed us many examples. I being from a city famous for protests and revolutions, enjoyed this class a lot.The most interesting part of the class was when Sue asked us to write down the things that made us angry. They were:
-
Corruption in Politics
- No Respect for Women or Human Beings
- Chinese Education system inconsistency
- Child labour worldwide
- Children being forced to beg by gangs
- Nuclear Power
- Forced Prostution
- Drugs
- Sexual Assault
- Ignorance
- Falsity
- Crime
- Judging on appearance
- Selfie
- War
My personal contributions were Selfie, Judging on appearance and Falsity.
After this Sue asked us to make a visual to protest that thing which made us angry. The image below was my protest:
This is a man who is being consoled by another person but if you notice closely, the head of the other person is missing. I want to show the falsity of people here. People who say that they want to help others but actually they don’t. This is my protest.
What is your protest? What makes you angry?
